THE FRANKLIN MINDFRAME:
Being Healthy, Wealthy + Wise
Healthy, Wealthy + Wise
First, Don't COnfuse Happiness with Success…
The reason for the Franklin Mindframe is to have a constant reminder that health, wealthy and wisdom is interconnected.
If you achieve one without the other, you're not achieving much.
People achieve "wealth success" all the time but still remain unhappy.
I've seen plenty of people achieve financial success and professional success but also sacrificing their health and personal relationships.
Gary Keller, co-founder of Keller Williams Realty and author of The One Thing talks about having a counter-balanced life.
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com talks about having a life that is harmonious.
I believe one aspect of a Poor Mindset, makes people have a singular focus on success, while sacrificing happiness.
THE FRANKLIN MINDFRAME
The or Franklin Mindframe is definitely a growth mindset. And it has the name inspired by the quote,
Even though many attribute this quote to Ben Franklin, because it appeared in his Poor Richard's Almanack; it was first used in print by John Clarke in a 1639 book of English and Latin proverbs.
I get the irony that I call this type of mindset, the Franklin Mindframe, even though I know it's not his quote. But he certainly made it famous and you probably didn't know it wasn't his, right?
If I called it the Clarke Mindset, I'd have to explain even more of what this mindset is about.
FIXED MINDSET VS GROWTH MINDSET
In a fixed mindset, people believe basic personal qualities, like intelligence or talent, are fixed, or limited. Basically, they're "born with it." That could be good or bad.
People with a fixed mindset don't spend time or energy developing news talent or new knowledge.
In a growth mindset, people believe basic abilities, talents and skills can be developed and enhanced with dedication and hard work. Natural "brains" and "talent" are just the starting point.
Carol Dweck, the author of the book, Mindset really dives deep into the idea of Fixed vs Growth Mindset. Check out this video of Carol sharing about Developing a Growth Mindset.
IF YOU'RE SELF EMPLOYED or AN ENTREPRENEUR YOU HAVE TO BE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE FUTURE...
By nature or by necessity.
You don’t start a business, invest in a product, open a restaurant, or become a real estate agent expecting to fail.
99% of the world can be negative, complain, bitch and whine.
As long as 1% of people are Optimists, have the right mindset, are willing to take risks, build and create… things will keep moving forward.
People will show up to those shops, and restaurants and bars, drinking, eating, spending money -complaining about how expensive everything is, how much traffic there is, and how the future is bleak and things are getting worse.
Without the right mindset, the Franklin Mindframet, you can get stuck in The Failure Loop.
Not only can the Failure Loop be a small loop because of the wrong mindset, beliefs or self-imposed personal constraints, it can be a big or long term loop just waiting to happen, because avoidance of personal health and personal development.
